Chair Cheryl Zando Welcomes Henrico Democrats
I am honored to serve as Chair of the Henrico Democrats, and could not be more proud of our work over the past year. In 2016, Democrats voted in record number in Henrico County.
Losing the presidential race hurts. But as Hillary Clinton said, “Please, please never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it. It’s always worth it. And we need you keep up these fights now and for the rest of your lives.”
As you know, our work in Virginia is never done. Even though we hold all five state-wide offices and have sent our very own Donald McEachin to Congress, we are already working to ensure that Henrico stays blue in 2017 when we’ll elect our next Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and all 100 members of the House of Delegates.
As we dust ourselves off and prepare for the next fight, we have an incredible opportunity to grow the capacity of our committee. Be it through outreach, increased community engagement, or building our membership and Magisterial District Teams, Henrico Democrats will go into 2017 prepared to develop strategies that will help us win not only next year but for many years to come.
As we prepare for our future, I challenge you to think about how you’d like to be more involved — What activities are you passionate about? What skills can we put to use? What leadership roles might you take on? I look forward to leading Henrico Democrats, and I encourage you to recommit to strengthening our committee, building our base, and engaging Democrats across Henrico.
Together we will keep Henrico blue!
Thank you for all you do,
