Voter’s Bill of Rights

You have the following rights:
  • To vote, even if you have no identification with you, by signing an “affirmation of identity” form
  • To vote a Provisional Ballot, if your status as a qualified voter is in question
  • To vote if you arrive at the poll by 7:00 p.m. (even if there is a line)
  • To vote if you registered at your current address by October 4, 2004
  • To receive help from an election official if you are unsure about anything relating to the voting process
  • To be given a demonstration of the voting machine
  • If you think you voted incorrectly, to have your vote voided BEFORE IT IS CAST, and to be given another opportunity to vote
  • To have a ballot brought to your vehicle if you are 65 or older or disabled
  • To have an election official or other person assist you in voting if you are disabled, or unable to read or write. IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY DIFFICULTIES VOTING, PLEASE CALL THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF VIRGINIA’S ELECTION HOTLINE: (800) 322-1144.

REMEMBER:
You cannot be denied the right to vote if you are eligible to vote.
