Call To Action: Protest Rob Wittman!

If you’ve been sitting at home, yelling at the news, refreshing social media, cursing under your breath every time you hear the words "republican" or “Wittman”, now’s the time to get up, get loud, and get in this fight.

The Senate just passed the Big Billionaire Betrayal Bill, a disgusting piece of legislation that slashes Medicaid, cuts protections for working families, veterans, and seniors, guts food assistance, and hands billions in tax breaks to the already filthy rich. They didn’t even pretend to hide it. They voted to hurt people. They voted to serve trump and the billionaire class.

And now? It’s heading to the House. That means Rob Wittman, our so-called representative, gets a chance to show whether he stands with the people of Virginia or the donor class that owns his vote.

And we know exactly which way he’s leaning.

Wittman has been pumping out emails claiming he’ll protect Medicaid. That he cares about seniors, families, kids. That he’s "fiscally responsible". My ass. This dude has voted with trump at every turn. He’s never met a cruel, cynical, self-serving republican budget he didn’t love.

So we’re holding his feet to the fire. And we need you to stand up with us.

Tomorrow, Thursday, July 3rd, the Henrico Dems, along with our partners at Democracy Circle RVA, 50501VA and Chesterfield Dems, are leading a protest at Cox and West Broad, just down the road from Wittman’s district office. We’ll be there from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. And we need a crowd.

Not just a few folks. Not just the regulars. We need everyone who’s angry. Everyone who says they care. Everyone who’s ever asked, “What can I do?”

This. This is what you can do.

You can show up. You can bring a sign. You can bring your kids. You can bring your rage. You can show Wittman, and every coward in Congress, that we are not going to be quietly sold out.

Because this bill will hurt people. It will hurt our neighbours. It will hurt the most vulnerable. And we will not stand by and let it happen without a fight.

And we don’t have time to waste. The GOP is determined to ram this through... fast. trump has made it clear he wants the bill on his desk by the Fourth of July. That means we have only hours to make our voices heard.
