Volunteer with Henrico Democrats
Year-round - There are many other ways to volunteer throughout the year, including Candidate Support, Fundraising, Outreach, Voter Education, and Communications. Let us know how you would like to get involved by completing our Sign Up Genius survey online or filling out a Member Volunteer Form and bringing it to our monthly meeting.
On Election Day - We coordinate Poll Greeters to distribute sample ballots, rides to the polls, and voter protection efforts. In the early Fall, we will post volunteer signups for Election Day as well as forms to request Coordinated Campaign yard signs and rides to the polls.
Campaigns always need volunteers to canvass door-to-door, phone bank, serve as staging locations, host meet and greets, display yard signs, and provide financial support. Go to our Candidate page to learn which Democrats are on the ballot and how to connect with their campaigns.
Officers of Election
Officers of Election are paid workers who help conduct elections. On Election Day, they must report to the polls at 5:00 am and remain until results are reported after the polls close at 7:00 pm. Click here for more information. If interested in serving as an Officer of Election, contact Electoral Board member Cathy Woodson.
Voter Registration Drives
Want to become certified to conduct nonpartisan voter registration drives? Visit the Virginia Department of Elections website for information about in person and online training. Then complete the Virginia Department of Election voter registration application and affidavit.
Each year, Virginia candidates for public office must submit notarized petition signatures to get on the ballot. If you are a public notary and would like to help, let us know on the Henrico Dems volunteer form. Information on how to become a public notary is available at the Secretary of the Commonwealth website.
