Chair Cheryl Zando Welcomes Henrico Democrats
I am honored to have been elected to serve as Chair of the Henrico County Democrats for the next two years. As you know, our work in Virginia is never done. Even though we inaugurated Governor Terry McAuliffe, Lt. Governor Ralph Northam, and Attorney General Mark Herring in January, we have already begun to work to ensure that Henrico votes to re-elect Senator Mark Warner and Congressman Bobby Scott and to elect Jack Trammell. We are also looking to 2015 when all of our local officials and General Assembly representatives are up for re-election.
Through the generosity of Stephanie Wingate, we also have an incredible opportunity to grow the capacity of our committee. Be it through outreach, increased community engagement, or building our Magisterial District Teams, Henrico Democrats will go into 2014 prepared to develop strategies that will help us win not only these next two years but for many years to come.
As we discuss our future, I challenge you to think about how you’d like to be more involved — What activities are you passionate about? What skills can we put to use? What leadership roles might you take on?
I look forward to leading HCDC, and I encourage you to recommit to strengthening our committee, building our base, and engaging Democrats across Henrico. Together we will keep Henrico blue!
Thank you for all you do,
